English: Thamel, a tourist destination of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, is also known as Sinhakalpa Nagar, Thabahil or Bhagwan Bahal. Bikramshil Mahavihar located in this place. This monastery is on the left side of the road from Tridevi Marg of Thamel to Askal Campus. The Mahabihar, which has a large area, is currently undergoing maintenance. There is also a Buddha Stupa on the left side of this Mahabihar and there is also a temple of Lord Simhasarthavahu nearby. There is a small stupa in the premises of this monastery and there are also sattals. It can be seen that there is an excellent example of woodwork.
